Awesome WM Widget Boilerplate

Some boilerplate for making an awesome window manager widget. This is just to make life easier as I continue making some custom widgets for Awesome WM.
Details
I have been working on some Awesome WM widgets which I plan to eventually post on my github. Currently I have a pretty slick CPU & temperature monitor working. While building it I decided it would be worth creating some boilerplate as a starting point for future widgets.
I have been experimenting with Awesome WM lately as I wanted some functionality that is basically not possible to get from a non-re-parenting tiling window manager. Awesome WM is one of the few (only?) tiling window managers which actually DOES re-parent windows and supports an amazing amount of customization. Everything is done with Lua so is basically only limited by what you can think up.
