Word Cloud
The dragon came from Stable Diffusion and a prompt I created. It was then hand-traced to an svg as none of the available tools or models do as good of a job as me, a human (I have some ideas on how to change that using AI models). The word cloud itself was generated using this tool from wordclouds.com. It’s a pretty decent tool (the best one I have found) and it’s free and without any restrictions which is even better. It also does a damn good job of making word clouds. It does have one annoying bug though which is when generating SVGs the background is actually an image and not a path… So of course I modified the output to actually contain my nice SVG. The word list itself is seeded from my resume combined with some of my personal projects and activities. It’s not perfect but it’s the best I have done so far and I think it does a better job of explaining me than a weak paragraph I write about things I like. I plan to revise it over time.
Dragon & Carp
My wife has a book of traditional Chinese paper cut designs which I love, it has many amazing paper cuttings as well as a small amount of history, and so through that book I learned of the story of the Dragon Gate and hence the concept of Carp ascending to Dragons which resonates with me.
I am an Aquarium hobbyist and I have a Common Pleco and some various Goldfish who at the time of writing this are over 15 years old. It also turns out Goldfish are a part of the carp family. That is why I chose Dragons & Fish as the base for the re-design of zrinsky.us.
